Piedmont: Giovanni Almondo, Monta d'Alba
The story of Giovanni Almondo starts 500-million years ago when Monta d’Alba is an ocean. The fossils, which can still be found in the vineyards nowadays, contribute to the essence of the wine.
Now run by the brother-team Stefano and Federico, Almondo grows Arneis, Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes that reflect the terroir of Monta. Their Arneis is regarded as one of the best in the regions, and is listed in the region’s top restaurants.
