Collection: Torocco Winery - Hokuto (北斗), Hokkaido

Curated by Chef Akihiro Nagao (長尾 彰浩), his restaurant Aki-Nagao located in Sapporo is the best keep secret for its fine source of Hokkaido produce with wine and food pairing. His love of low-intervention wine has finally lead him to create his own winery and begin running in Autumn 2024.

Since 2021, wines were brewed with Nora Kura and 10R Winery in contract basis. Meanwhile, the grapes are sourced in vineyards at Northern Hokkaido - Yoichi and their aquired vineyard in Southern Hokkaido - Hokuto.

In 2024 their winery in Hokuto is finally built. Both the winery and vineyard has been carefully look after by Sachiko Ishida (石田 幸子) and her team, with the current 3.5hectare plantings of: 

Niagara - Vitis labrusca (the original vines form the previous owners, 30 years old vines to produce the FRONTIER Pét-nat) 

Gewurztramier, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris planted in 2021 ; Chardonnay and Riesling planted in 2022 ; Pinot Noir and Zweigeltrebe planted in 2023

Thier aim is to have their domaine wines ready to sell in 2028/2029. At the meantime, please enjoy and tasty the delicious negociant wines brewed by the team!
