Collection: Lazio: Abbia Nova

Even wonder how wine taste like back to Roman Empire? We are proud to introduce Abbia Nova, an organic and biodynamic winery from Rome, Lazio. With the winery's natural approach, we can have a glimpse of wine fashion in Roman times.

The Proietti family began to approach natural farming in the 1980s, and is the leading biodynamic wine producer in Lazio. Taking organic and biodynamic farming and wine making to a further step, the winery is rebranded as "Abbia Nova" in recent years (formerly known as "Costa Graia"), with a strong focus on their vineyards in the town of Piglio. Currently, out of the 9 crus of the winery's holding, there are 5 ancient crus where viticulture is dated back to the Roman Empire.
