Collection: Puglia: Luca Attanasio
Luca Attanasio is the son of Gregorio Attanasio from legendary Primitivo producer Cantina Attanasio. After working with his family winery, Luca begins his own winery of 3 hectares, growing some 60 years old vines Primitivo in Manduria, known as the best spot for Primitivo in the world.
The terroir of Manduria is characterized by its red clay soil close to the sea. Primitivo grown in this area is rich in minerals and iron, with creamy texture and are favoursome.
The origins of Primitivo can be traced back to ancient vines coming from Dalmatia, it is related to the Californian Zinfaldel, one of the most popular and appreciated red grape varieties in America. Primitivo ripens early compared to other varieties in Puglia, hence the name Primitivo (derives from "prīmus" in Latin means "first" and "original").
All of Luca's wines are crafted from old vines, alberello trained Primitivo in Manduria.
