Domaine Lindenlaub: A Legacy of Organic and Natural Winemaking in Alsace
Located in the historic village of Dorlisheim along Alsace’s famed wine route, Domaine Lindenlaub is a family estate founded in 1759. Now under the stewardship of Christophe Lindenlaub, the fourth-generation vigneron, the domaine spans 10 hectares of vineyards across Dorlisheim and Mutzig, where clay-limestone and sandstone soils imbue the wines with mineral depth and aromatic complexity.

Commitment to Organic and Biodynamic Practices
In 2009, Christophe embarked on a bold journey to convert the entire estate to organic farming, achieving AB certification in 2012 17. His vision expanded to biodynamic practices, utilizing herbal preparations and lunar cycles to nurture the seven classic Alsatian grape varieties: Riesling, Pinot Noir, Auxerrois, Sylvaner, Muscat, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris. Hand-harvesting and minimal intervention in the cellar, such as native yeast fermentations and eschewing additives, define his philosophy, ensuring wines that reflect the purity of their terroir.

Innovative Winemaking and Signature Styles
Christophe’s experimental spirit shines through his diverse portfolio. The domaine produces crisp, stainless-steel-aged whites like Matin Fou (Sylvaner) and A Griffes Acérées (Riesling), alongside skin-contact orange wines such as EleFanta Orange (Auxerrois) and vibrant pet-nats like En Liberté (Pinot Gris). His Ensō range, symbolized by a Japanese calligraphy circle, epitomizes balance and energy, offering "living wines" that forgo filtration and sulfur to capture raw vitality.

A Vision of Authenticity
Beyond technical mastery, Christophe infuses his wines with a playful, meditative ethos. From oxidative experiments to whimsical labels featuring animals and riddles, his creations invite drinkers to reconnect with nature’s rhythms. This approach has positioned Domaine Lindenlaub as a leader in Alsace’s natural wine movement, celebrated for bottlings that blend heritage with avant-garde creativity.

For enthusiasts seeking wines of terroir-driven authenticity and joyful expression, Domaine Lindenlaub stands as a testament to Alsace’s evolving narrative, where centuries-old traditions meet the dynamic vision of a new generation.

What is Enso?
Enso (襌圓) is an ink brush in the shape of a circle, a symbol often found in Zen Buddhism in Japan. It symbolizes unity, fullness and infinity. There is an Enso on every Lindenlaub bottles, because Christophe believes that only by going back to the terroir and nature, we can fully connect with the wine. He also believes the energy exchange between the particular drinker and bottle at the particular moment. As he says on the back label of his bottles, "this bottle belongs to you".
