Lagrein has always been the signature grape of Alto Adige. One will start to understand how important this grape variety is to the region once they look into its history: in 1526, Michael Gaismair famously lead a peasant revolt against the nobles demanding equal access to Lagrein wines.
Many described Lagrein as "Alto Adige's Cabernet Sauvignon" because of its dark color, rich black fruits, minerals and spices. Aged in a mix of tonneaux barriques, Luis' Lagrein tastes of cherry, raspberry, plum, dark chocolate, and liquorice.
Grape: 100% Lagrein
