Collection: Veneto: Tenuta Baron
Tenuta Baron is a 10-hectare boutique and artisanal Prosecco grower by two brothers Giacomo and Andrea, who grow, pick and craft their Prosecco in their own estate in Asolo, Veneto. They are working with sustainable farming with no pesticides, and all wines are SQNPI certified.
Asolo Prosecco is a small region of area less then 3% of the whole Prosecco. A truly rare and boutique Prosecco, refreshing and approachable, and with a fineness that we never taste before!
While Prosecco DOC is one of the biggest in Italy (450 million bottles per annum), Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG is less than 3% of this volume, and many regard this region as a beacon to boutique Prosecco.
Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG, formed in 2009, is often compared with another boutique Prosecco region: Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG. Asolo is more south facing, and enjoys a higher temperature variation between the day and night. The warmer and drier climate gives wines with higher dry extracts, giving more body and weight, as long as age-ability. In fact, the best Asolo Prosecco can age and improve over 5 to 7 years!
