1998 Menghai Grade 8 Raw Pu’er Tea Cake
Origin: Menghai, Yunnan, China

1950s to 1990s was the era of state owned tea factory where Pu’er tea leaves were separated into different “grades” according to their leaf sizes. A higher grade number do not necessary means higher quality, but indicates that the tea cake is made with larger size tea leaves, which gives rounder, mellower taste and early approachability. This 1998 Grade 8 raw Pu’er provides an excellent introduction to the wonderful world of matured raw Pu’er!

Brewing Tips: Enjoy this tea by brewing with purple clay tea pot and boiling water!

產地:雲南勐海
在50至90年代,中國大陸的茶園皆為國營企業。在國營制度下,普洱茶的等級以葉子的大小來區分,葉子越大得到的「等級」越高。然而,這樣的「等級」制與葉的品質無直接關係,反而是不同口味的展示 – 不同大小的葉子沖泡出來的茶各有不同風格。
大葉子的茶口感圓潤,入口順滑,不需要陳年太久即能享用。此批為1998年的八級青茶,現在已能享用,為進入古董茶世界的入門之選。
沖泡方式:把葉茶置於紫砂壺,用沸水沖泡
