2015 is a warm vintage which greatly benefited vineyards with high altitudes, and 2015 Au Pied du Mont Chauve Saint Aubin 1er Cru Pitangerets is one of them. Ripe lemons, wet stones and honey on the nose, a smooth texture, creamy sweet fruit infused palate which ended with a refreshing and long finish. Moreish!
Grape: ChardonnayThe Story:
Cru Pitangerets is a vineyard acrossing Saint Aubin and Chassagne Montrachet. While in CM, the grapes are blended with the adjoining vineyard Les Vergers, no wine is labelled under the vineyard "Cru Pitangerets".
It is only in St Aubin that Cru Pitangerets shines with its own individuality. The wine shows a unique palate of ripe lemon and wet stone, which are the characteristics of Cru Pitangerets.
More about Cru Pitangerets:
The map shows the broader of Chassagne-Montrachet and St Aubin, where 2 vineyards lie across the two appellation. Vineyard number 1 is Les Petingerets in the CM side, which is usually blended with Les Vergers.
We highly appreciate the story behind this vineyard, and would love to share this unique St Aubin with you!
Please note there are two spellings of the vineyard - and they are the same one:
CM: Les Petingerets
Saint Aubin 1er Cru: Pitangerets
