Cantina Campogrande is located at Riomaggiore, one of the five towns of Cinque Terre - a boutique venture by the Barolo legendary winemaker Elio Altare. This is one of the most picturesque and steepest vineyards in the world. It is most famous for its white wines from the native grapes Bosco and Albarola.
Altare's lifetime dream was to repeat the success of Barolo in the 1980s at Liguria with local grapes. While the production volume of Cantina Campogrande is small (less than 8,000 bottles per year), the wines are world-class and listed in Michelin-Starred Restaurants around the world.
