Champagne Vincent Charlot & Charlot-Tanneux
Champagne Vincent Charlot is located in Mardeuil. The Champagne house is among the small group of biodynamic growers, which less than 1% of Champagne house in the entire Champagne region is granted such certificate. All of his 4 ha of vineyards are demeter certified. Vincent plants with old vines more than 60+ years old. With biodynamic as his philosophy, he is able to harvest grapes at perfect ripeness, making intense flavoured, full-bodied Champagne which some may think as a controversial.
No malo-lactic fermentation is used. Vincent relies on biodynamic, late harvest, and strict selection (we witness vineyards with only 30% of the grapes being picked) to produce perfected grapes with sufficient ripeness and intensity to balance the refreshing acids in the wine.
Some of Vincent's wines are released under his family's label "Charlot-Tanneux". These wines share the same wine growing biodynamic principles as the “Vincent Charlot” label, the only difference is that they are not officially certified. The great pricing of these vintage champagnes is a great news to Vincent’s fans.
