Albino Rocca, Barbaresco, Piedmont
“I was never very happy with barriques, and am very pleased that the market now wants more elegant, less evidently oaked wines, which is what I prefer.” Angelo Rocca

Albino Rocca starts his own winery in 1940s. With inheritance of some of our most precious vineyards in Barbaresco, and the support of his son Angelo Rocca, the estate grows and become one of the leading growers in the area. In 2004, Angelo changes his barrels to big barrels for his Barbaresco, believing that is the best way to express the elegant personality of Nebbiolo: wonderful dark cherry, floral and savoury structured.

Now, the estate is ran by his three daughters (Monica, Daniela, Paola) and son-in-law Carlo, with a respect to the tradition and legacy from Angelo.
